CITIES x PLACES: FLOWER POWER – HONG KONG

Taken at Hong Kong’s Flower Market in Mongkok the day before Mother’s Day + the end result.

It’s a little late for a Mother’s Day post, but this year I decided to arrange my own “bouquet” made with love, rather than buy a bouquet made by strangers. It was my first time ever doing anything like this so I ended up buying too many flowers and had to make three arrangements (main arrangement pictured), oops. So the whole house just smells of flowers, even now as I’m typing my senses are being bombarded with the scent of lilies, forget-me-nots and peonies – which is starting to be a little nauseating, but by far not the worst thing to have happen!

You know, flower arranging is oddly relaxing; they’re pretty to look at and really do brighten up a space. Not to mention the immediate gratification and creative release is superb. Not too shabby.

  1. Your bouquet of love looks gorgeous. I really should try my hand at making my own for my mom in the future, maybe next year? Thanks for sharing! And all the photos are beautiful hehe, nothing better than looking at photos of flowers!

    • You’re so sweet. Thank you for your lovely comment and compliments. Yes, definitely try it out! I’m sure she’ll love it. Heck, do it for her birthday even or just because. :) I’m glad the flowers put a smile on your face.
