BALLERINA FLATS x TILES: #FROMWHEREISTAND
Taken this summer after lunch, outside the Agnès B. Cafe on Leighton Road in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
If any one is interested, I’m wearing Michael by Michael Kors’ Kiera ballet flats. It looks like they’re sold out on a lot of online retailers, such as ShopBop and Nordstrom, but are still available in an array of colours and on sale through Browns (linked). Honestly, for what I consider a relatively low-cost shoe (especially if you catch them on sale), you’d think they’d give you blisters after a couple of hours, but they are so, SO extremely comfortable. Cross my heart! I don’t know if it’s the soft leather interiors, but I can walk in these shoes all day, every day. In fact, they’re my new errand-running and travel go-tos. Of course, like with any shoes, clothing or undergarments, the key is purchasing items in the right size.
I don’t normally gravitate towards heavily monogramed shoes, but these look surprisingly great on the feet and pretty understated (as in, not obnoxiously in your face). A bonus for Salvatore Ferragamo fans, as Kiera’s bow design was clearly inspired by the luxury Italian brand’s classic Varina ballerinas (which are also about 4-5 times more expensive). Likelihood of repurchasing? 100% – and probably soon, seeing as they seem to be sold out everywhere! .. I think the black leather Kieras look especially lovely.
P.S. Great food at this Agnès B. Cafe Grille, if anyone’s ever in Hong Kong and doing some shopping in that area! You can find everything from luxury brands to high street and local no-name labels, not to mention some DELICIOUS food. Need I say more? Enjoy! ;)
