Happy Earth Day & Happy Friday!
Take care of our Earth, it’s the only real home we have. It is so important to look beyond ourselves and around us. At the rate we are going, the world as we know it will cease to exist. Species are going extinct, national lakes are disappearing, and our polar ice caps are melting at a rate so fast the effects are said to be irreversible.
In 2014, the US Fish and Wildlife agency announced that by the way we are going, the African lion could be extinct by 2050. Think about that for a second. That is within our lifetimes, and a shockingly real number.
For those born in the 90’s like myself, by the time our children reach our current age and long before they have children of their own, classic movies such as The Lion King will have as much relevance as saber-tooth tigers, woolly mammoths and dodo birds have to us: mere cartoon characters and natural history museum remnants. That thought alone is 100% ridiculous to me, and indescribably hard to grasp; but this is the reality.
Conserve. Recycle. Take 2 seconds.
Take two seconds out of your day to turn off standby electronics and lights; reduce pollution and waste; recycle and reuse. Take two seconds to give a shit.
That is all.
